How do I document my decluttering journey - Hobonichi Techno Cousin
Decluttering is a long and labourious journey.
At least that is what I feel and I believe some of my friends and readers feel the same way too. We are too attached to our things. Agree?
I have tried many ways to document my decluttering journey. They do not seem to work so far. I tried to write down how many bags I threw everyday, but did not worked very well. I began to lost touch on how much I decluttered and how much more I need to work on.
I came across this book in Instagram and luckily there is a Japanese translated to Chinese copy available in Kinokuniya. This is my first to go book to read on why Ofumi has transformed her house to minimalist one. Very interesting.
She has written a lot of books but so far, I only saw 3 translated books. The one below talked about how writing a journal helps to achieve her dreams. One of her dreams is to be a minimalist. I decided to follow her method and start to document my decluttering journey proper. I bought this book from Popular bookstore.
Finally, I decided to buy Hobonichi Techno Cousin in 2019, just like what Ofumi the author uses. I bought this at NBC Stationery and Gift shop at Raffles City mall. I chose the A5 Cousin size as I wanted to illustrate and include photos so that I can remember better what I did in cleaning up my house. It has weekly, monthly and daily pages to fill up.
One of my first entry on my Hobonichi Techno Cousin on why I want to be a minimalist.
1. I want to feel lighter
2. I want to be minimalist lady
3. I want to be in good spirits all the time
4. I want to spend more time with my family
5. I want to save money and space
Set up some goals why you want to declutter, write on a planner or paper so that you can refer when you are frustrated with packing.
Good luck!

Hi!! I chanced upon your blog while searching for hobonichi. I had read Ofumi blog and the same books and on a journey to minimalism. Does journaling helps?

Great article! I really appreciate the way you broke down the topic and explained each step so clearly.
ReplyDeleteI’ve been on the hunt for a lightweight yet powerful face serum, and then I came across skeyndor's face serum. The way it boosts collagen production and locks in moisture sounds like a game-changer. Can’t wait to give it a try and see the glow for myself.
Thanks for such a wonderful blog, keep posting such content.
This was such an informative read—thank you for sharing your thoughts. I’ve always been a bit unsure about how to choose the best face highlighter makeup out of various available highlighters in the market. But then I came across Moira Beauty's highlighter and now I'm so satisfied with the result. Keep posting such content.
